AR-15 magazine round bag found in classroom sends California Area High School on lockdown

https://www.wpxi.com/news/local/ar-15-magazine-bag-found-classroom-sends-california-area-high-school-lockdown/4ARKAJU4CBGDBN4IQ36PASZDTM/

COAL CENTER, Pa. — California Area High School in Washington County was put on lockdown Wednesday after an AR-15 round bag was found in a classroom.

The district said a teacher noticed the bag on her classroom floor. There was no magazine, ammunition or gun inside the bag.

California Borough Police were called and the high school was put on lockdown. The district said all lockers were checked by administrators and nothing additional was found.......

Cut

So, I'm guessing we need common sense (checks story again)... bag control.

I'm curious as to what it actually was. A PMAG gen 3 bag? A Fenix Ammunition bag? A range bag? A ziplock sandwich bag? No telling.

institute a lockdown. Lock all the kids inside the school, when for all you know the reason the bag was empty was because some student or someone had loaded all the ammo already into the gun(s)? I guess I'm nuts... the first thing I'd want to do is get the kids out of the school. But I guess that scenario would have tipped off the shooter... causing premature shots? This crap has got to stop somehow. I remember when the days of "duck and cover" was for a mushroom cloud; never did I think we'd have a such a problem with guns in schools. I so detest this.

it's the killers. In high school, English 4, one could write an essay about whatever you wanted, (well, within reason), and bring a prop/subject of essay to school. On essay day, it was allowed to bring a rifle or shotgun to class. Nobody was ever wounded/killed to my knowledge, because of responsibility. Some schools in the past actually had ranges, and had .22 rifle leagues. Hunters would bring their guns, and leave them in their cars. No mass shootings.

I'm sure anyone with 2 active brain cells could have known what it was from a photo, which may be why one wasn't provided. I'm still wagering it was the plastic bag for a Pmag.

It was thrown out to incite fear in those predisposed to panic. It had all the right words, and once it generated the fear, it was allowed to quietly fade into obscurity.
