Gun Control & RKBA

The 1 percent comes in piece.
Dozens of New York Citys billionaires, real-estate moguls and Wall Street CEOs are really loaded, according to the NYPDs gun-permit list obtained by The Post under the Freedom of Information Act.
Top guns include Donald Trump, Marvel Comics head Isaac Perlmutter and Gristedes chairman and mayoral wannabe John Catsimatidis.
Billionaire cosmetics heir Ron Lauder who once dumped $4 million of his own cash on an effort to install term limits for city pols, only to do a complete 180 and back anti-gun zealot Mayor Bloombergs third term also packs heat.
Real estate titan Andrew Farkas may have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth hes the Harvard-educated grandson of the founder of Alexanders department stores but as an adult he prefers a pistol in his pocket.
So does Hard Rock casino tycoon Richard Fields, who once got into a legal spat with fellow gunman Trump over a soured partnership.

(16,020 posts)and I don't get why people are willing to give up their second amend rights. The criminals, police, and wealthy will always find a way to obtain arms or in the case of the wealthy to either buy them or pay body guards to protect them.

(5,436 posts)The 2nd Amendment is about militias, not about laissez-faire gun ownership.
what about the wealthy and connected? Do they have a special militia they belong to?
If one of the definitions of militia according to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition is "The whole body of physically fit civilians eligible by law for military service", we can expect you to go out and purchase an AR right? Or are you shirking your duty?

(17,493 posts)as long as members of the 99% enjoy the same rights and the cost and hassle is not so excessive as to make it practically impossible for members of the lower classes to obtain permission to own and/or carry.
There's something seriously wrong with the system when some rich and famous person who rides in limousines and flies in his own private jet has a carry permit, but an honest citizen who lives in the belly of the beast is unable to get a permit to even have a firearm.
