OHIO: Gun sales up 26% over last year.

http://www.thenews-messenger.com/article/20120721/NEWS01/207210317/1002/

Pre-purchase background checks for firearms are up 26 percent in Ohio for the first half of 2012, when compared to the record-breaking first six months of last year, according to new data from the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

This could mean the same people are buying more guns, but it also could mean the customer base in Ohio for firearms has widened as a series of state laws have made it easier to own and carry a gun in public.

SNIP

About 240,000 concealed-carry licenses have been issued or renewed since

2008, according to statistics from the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

Those are people who now have a finicial and emotional investment in guns and will be likely to vote accordingly.

The whip's frontlash continues to crack. Yeehaw!

You should catch the joke as you are a long time regular of the Gungeon. But for the sake of others who are more recent I will explain.

There is another poster who is extremely anti-gun and loves to end his OPs with the claim that the backlash against guns is coming. His last word was always, "Yup". Meanwhile gun rights continue to expand, hence my reference to "frontlash". "Yeehaw" is a parody of his "Yup".

right?

There is a direct correlation between number of guns and violence. Everyone knows this.

My wife, a statist establishment-loving Republican, has suddenly decided she needs her Concealed Carry Permit and a gun of her own. Up until now she thought her left wing Democrat semi hippie husband was just being over the top carrying a gun. Then she got a job that gets her out of her office and in contact with the public. Suddenly she has the urge to be armed. Go figure.

Monsters are real. And these days we let them roam around freely and do as they please.
