I want to play those video games and I enjoy many of them. Why do you want to infringe on my rights and how is that any different than the gun rights you feel are being infringed on?

my dad got my brother and I a "war" toy from the store. it consisted of a Thompson, a hand grenade, a water canister and a plastic helmet. We'd go out and play "war" for hours on end.

Since I've gotten older (and have owned weapons (guns) for years), I've never, ever, ever, ever considered the remote possibility I'd go out and play "war" with a real gun.

It was boys being boys. When we got home, we'd put the stuff down in the living room (and boy would my mom get mad and having to clean up behind us), but we never gave it another thought, until the next weekend when we'd go play "war" again.

Quit elevating the shooter in any incident as a 24/7 news story. A lot of people MAY do this sort of thing to get recognition in death they felt they deserved in life.

Quit reporting their name and stop trying to find their 2nd teacher to see how they acted when they were 7, or 9 or 12.

Ignore them. Whether we want to admit it or not, many people crave this type of attention. In my opinion, this gives someone on the edge the final push they need.

I have been arguing with people for the last week that the media plays a role in this too. But it's easier to focus on guns and video games I guess.

The twisted, sick mind that does a horrific crime wants to go out in a "blaze of glory" and "be remembered". So the media cooperates with a 24/7 news cycle that investigates when the killer was potty trained, how he feeels about his grandmother and what his favorite color is/was.

We know more about these assholes than we do about most political candidates!

While all this is going on now, some sick SOB is sitting in Mom's basement right now thinking; "I can do better than that and then my face will be all over the news and they'll remember me".

If you banned a good portion of the violence in films others would push to ban all the sex and we would end up with documentaries.
