Understanding the corporate media

I think this article does a good job of explaining our bullshit corporate media.
This isn't a "Hillary bashing" article OBTW. At least that's not how I read it.

HILLARY CLINTON DOESN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THE CORPORATE MEDIA IS SO BAD

HILLARY CLINTON HAS every right to be infuriated by the performance of the press during the 2016 election. In her new book “What Happened,” Clinton mainly indicts television news for abandoning coverage of any actual public policy issues in favor of its berserk obsession with her use of a private email server. Subsidiary malefactors include Matt Lauer, for asking her about almost nothing else at NBC’s September 2016 Commander-in-Chief Forum on national security, and the New York Times, for its spasmodic freakout when FBI Director James Comey declared he was re-opening the bureau’s investigation into her emails just before the election.

But here’s where Clinton and I part ways:

Everyone who follows politics, and most people who don't know that politicians will do a lot of things for their big campaign donors. The Quid Pro Quo is illegal but never talked about on our media. They do not ask the question for things like, Why are the Republicans pushing a Health Care bill with only 12% approval? They know the answer but are forbidden by their corporate masters from talking about it.

Why don't you hear much about climate change on TV? The impact to oil company revenue (big advertisers) and the medias loss of oil ad dollars if they did. BP made sure to advertise heavily along the Gulf Coast and on national media so that no reporting about the spill (after they capped the well) and the victims would come out. BP's national commercials after that showed a lady in Alaska with fog coming off of her breath, as far from the Gulf as BP could get. Now another round of how safe they are!

person under the age of 50, for starters, and than any person who did NOT follow the media vs the Clinton's closely and carefully in real time and who didnt have some PRE Clinton era experience.

She CANT say the media did it's job because that would be pessimistic and that isnt going to play well.

She could point out the difference between the media Watergate era and beginning with her and her husband's era, but that ALSO would be seen as sour grapes.

Jon Schwarz, the author of this piece looks like a nice, intelligent young to middle aged man. A young man who knows relatively little about all this compared to the Clinton's or for that matter some of us who have lived through much of this including those few of us who remember Watergate.

Just sayin...
