Controversial host Keith Olbermann out at ESPN

For the second time, Keith Olbermann will be departing ESPN.

The controversial broadcaster will leave after his contract expires July 31. The news was first reported Wednesday afternoon by James Andrew Miller, the author of the best-selling book "These Guys Have All the Fun" about ESPN.

Per Miller, Olbermann's departure was labeled as a "business decision" by ESPN management. Olbermann is the second big name to leave ESPN this year, following Bill Simmons, whose contract wasn't renewed.

ESPN later issued a statement about Olbermann:

"Keith is a tremendous talent who has consistently done timely, entertaining and thought-provoking work since returning to ESPN. While the show's content was distinctive and extremely high quality, we ultimately made a business decision to move in another direction. We wish Keith nothing but the best and trust that his skill and ability will lead him to another promising endeavor."

This is getting ridiculous. What the hell is wrong with these networks besides big bucks??? It's not Keith per se, although he is a diva (aren't we all), his style, his knowledge, his wit, and most importantly, his way of telling it like it is probably is the reason behind this.

The best thing he should do at this point is to go on You Tube like everyone else. He has a page there thru ESPN (for now at least), and I'm already subscribed there and it's the best way for me to see him at his finest when I'm home.

I just found out moments ago and I read this from Variety (which had me running here almost immediately), and from what they're saying makes sense. I seriously doubt M$NBC will consider it but for what it's worth they should:

(Note: scroll down and read the comments. Looks like there's some hope after all.)

Well, guess I'll just watch ESPN only for football scores when the season starts. Disney, y'all just lost the best thing you ever had!

Apparently there's an article in Variety on Keith and MSNBC and why they should get together again. Of course I'd be watching.
