What to tell a RW family member slamming Biden over budget cuts

for the Navy. I'm not saying Biden is necessarily correct in this, but the defense budget is so massive & surely bloated in many cases. I can only find RW & Hawkish D sources on the cuts to the Navy.

Opinions? Sources?

When your enemy is taking out your $13B aircraft carriers with a few missiles, you have a big problem.

As the next EIGHT countries combined, including Russia and China. As an accountant, I would want to have a hard look at those numbers, politics aside.
