My ex was stationed in La Maddalena, Sardegna from 78-80. Very remote with only a small dispensary for medical. When the ex had gallbladder surgery in Naples, at that hospital, I spent two glorious weeks drinking and dining all over Naples. I spent hours at the exchange and got ice cream at Baskin Robbins every day. I was maybe 23. Thanks for the tour down memory lane 🤗

Naples was a frequent and popular stop. The AFSOUTH Exchange was the place to go for camera and stereo gear. Had my first Caprese salad at a cafe across the street from the main base.
