I'm not not sure I made myself clear - but I really truly *think* Southerners holding onto their Confederate and Antebellum sympathies and "hurt" need to get over it.

If former SS Officers could be kind to a brown child - so could the grandchildren of a Confederate soldier. But they were not. 100 years vs 25 years.

Europe is not perfect - but at least they try.

won't help end racism because most white americans don't care about ending racism. That would mean everyone would have access to the privilege enjoyed by the majority of that subgroup everyday. Don't get me wrong there are people of that subgroup that want to do the right thing, just never has been enough of them to make a real and LASTING difference.
