White society: stop bitching, if you want to see better representation than you have to do something about it yourselves

White society: thats racist, you shouldnt exclude people

Black people: points out the problem

Black people: creates own networks, award shows, and films and television specifically catered to black audiences and with the express purpose of giving more jobs and better visibilitiy to black artists.
White society: thats racist, white people dont have their own channels and award shows; also. . black films? Entertainment should be made for everybody.
White society: continues to treat blacks as second class and unprotected citizens
Black people: CALMLY points out the problem
White society: not our problem
Black people: creates black movement to protest the problem, through which some results finally start showing
White society: thats divisive, ALL LIVES MATTER also this is not how you achieve results, you need to be more calm and civil, like my bff MLK!

(10,345 posts)I must be honest and admit I originally thought the premise of black entertainment and black TV was exclusive and kind of racist but I learned the fault of that thought process years ago.

(Even Bill Maher commented last night on the stupidity of the "All lives matter" statement--and clearly explained *why* it is a horrifically inappropriate response. Not that I think the people who spout such things will allow themselves to be informed.)
