but hadn't seen the whole song. I think Ms. James was a role model for Christina. Hers was a great tribute.

Christina can never sing anything without so many excessive "flourishes" that to me, just gets old. I've no problem with "bluesy" singing style, but she just overdoes it. And, yes, I think she could have dressed more appropriately for a funeral. But, with CA, it is all about the attention.

I need to go pull my original Etta James version to cleanse that rendition out of my mind. Sorry, CA fans, but I'm increasingly NOT one.

I think of it as more the "American Idol" style of singing. I dislike it very much and it is why I stopped watching the show years ago.

LOL...yeah, does her wardrobe always look like this? I assume it does. Since, generally, you dress more "calmly" for a funeral. I don't follow, Christiana, so I don't know. I tend to listen to gospel music. But, I was a fan of the great Etta James. What a voice!!!
