http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/10/nyregion/black-princeton-professor-protests-her-parking-ticket-arrest.htmlA black Princeton professor is protesting her arrest during a traffic stop last week, saying she was mistreated because of her race by two white police officers who searched her and handcuffed her to a table.
The police chief in Princeton, N.J., however, said the officers had followed department policy in arresting the professor, Imani Perry.
The arrest of Dr. Perry, a professor of African-American studies, and the divergent views of how it was handled have reignited a debate on social media over police tactics and racial profiling.
The arrest came after officers stopped Dr. Perry around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday for driving 67 miles per hour in a 45 m.p.h. zone, Capt. Nicholas K. Sutter, the department chief, said in a telephone interview on Tuesday.
Fucking outrageous and racist!

(4,176 posts)I read the poster to mean that because both black people and jewish people are discriminated against, if it happened to Dershowitz he too wouldnt garner any outrage for the same bigoted and racist reason this black person isnt.

Hmmm, that's close but not quite on point. Let me see if I can fix that for him:
The police chief in Princeton, N.J., however, said the officers had followed department policy in arresting an uppity black woman.
Yeah that seems more accurate

(37,457 posts)I seriously doubt they would have handcuffed me, a middle aged white man, to a table. That's something you do if you think the "suspect" is going to run away, which I really doubt she was even remotely contemplating. Furthermore, if you think the suspect is going to run away or be violent, why not go all the way and shackle hands and feet ? I think the explanation is BS.
