Editors note: This post contains tweets that some may find offensive.
What was supposed to be a normal train ride in Chicago for Twitter user @raresoulx turned out to be the complete opposite. According to @raresoulx, a drunken white passenger on the train repeatedly called an elderly black man the n-word for 15 minutes. After being verbally accosted, the unidentified black man took matters into his own hands, literally. And it was, of course, captured on video.

(54,770 posts)educating him -- after taking his racist crud for quite awhile -- is somewhat satisfying. I did think as he was hitting him on the ground, that thank god that is not a george zimmerman type. But I agree, sad some punk pushed him to that.

(6,133 posts)The more likely result would have been a group of younger people kicking his ass.
But the 75 y/o guy did it. Good for him, but there is so much racism outwardly out there today. It makes me nothing but sad that the guy in his later years had to endure it to the point of having to react like that.
I would like it in a movie, but I don't like it for real. It really says a lot about this society in which we live.
