I knew of the rebellions of Nat Turner, Gabriel Prosser and Demark Vesey,

but I hadn't heard of the Gullah Wars, full-on military battles, which went on for many years.

It makes me angry that I didn't know about that. I know about the Gullah islands off the SC coast and heard of Seminoles but didn't understand there was a connection. And I was taught that there were no successful slave revolts in the US, only in the Caribbean.

Thanks for posting. Fascinating topic.
