It's sad watching what makes my party great being chased away.

I've given up on the jury system (in and out of DU) but where the fuck are the mods? The Scarlet Letter now has two a's because outside influences get their way unopposed. I oppose.

Seriously.

When you see thread after thread in GD begging people to stop being "distracted" by talking about "pet issues" like race and gender, it's time to turn off the lights, close shop and burn the mother to the ground.

I don't think anyone will alert on me for that - it's subject to interpretation. But if you are familiar with the events Tennyson wrote about and had published just six weeks after the Charge of the Light Brigade - and then see what Truman accomplished -

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

If we win in 2016 - our strength will not come from the Cannons to the left of us - in the Democratic Party, or the Cannons to the Right of us - in the Democratic Party . . .
