My State Rep told me she heard 2 college kids outside a bar in Madison, WI and they were saying they wouldn't mind a racist President. The word doesn't have the stigma anymore. Just today HRC referred to the crackpots who said Sandy Hook was staged and not real. Child actors. The audience gasped. So many don't pay attention. Years ago this same story was in our college paper with college kids promoting it. I about had a heart attack.

I work for the DEMs every day of my life since 2000. It is always boots on the ground. We have just about flipped our city/county offices to all progressive. Under Walker, state offices are another matter. Our state has been burned to the ground under him. Kansas and Wisconsin have been the petri dishes for batshit crazy right wing crap. They have succeeded.

Racism & sexism is tradition in the US.

At first, I could relate. But then again, if it became open season on us, not just cops, and no one went to jail or got convicted (like Zimmerman)... hmm...

Unfortunately, I think that's the future either way, Trump's win or loss; thanks to Trump galvanizing the fuckers.

And I have been actively working to beat them at the ballot box ever since. Sometimes with campaigns, but the majority of my time is spent doing GOTV and voter education for c3 groups for traditionally underrepresented communities. Those communities also have the sense not to vote for politicians like GWB and Trump when they do turn out to vote, so it is win for everybody, IMO. I get to work actively against atrocious politicians and simultaneously hold the "good" ones accountable to these communities when they do win.

The Trump thing is unbelievable. I mostly just roll my eyes and try not to think about the why of that too hard since it makes my brain cook.

And they have a complicit media at their disposal, normalizing this instead of calling it out.

I thought living through George W. Bush's presidency and the things that began happening in this country in the aftermath of 9-11 was scary. This is a hundred times worse. I have very dark moments where I think he might win and it makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm doing what I can to GOTV locally. I can't stand by and do nothing.
