If President Obama authorizes anything, the usual screamers here will scream about him getting us involved in foreign affairs that are none of our business.

Mind you, I'm all for the U.S. helping in situations like this, but be aware that the people who kidnapped these girls are Nigerian as well, and so if we had special forces go in and shoot them to rescue the girls, there'd be whining about them not all getting trials.

but the latest reports suggest the missing have been taken over the border into neighboring countries and dispersed in several small towns, which complicates things significantly...I think a lot of people are reading the news stories with some Hollywood action movie mindset; thinking 200+ girls are all being held in some super-secret warehouse or something...

What is also being unsaid is that there is a lot of sympathy/support for Boko Haram among people in the Muslim-heavy northern region of the country...

Here even in the US when a white teen girl went missing, it was a big deal on the front page. If a black teen went missing it was barely mentioned on the back page. I'm white and a senior citizen and I saw this over and over for decades.

if 300 american white and or british white teenage students were missing every single news channel, every single newspaper, every single everything in media on the planet would buzz with it 24/7, Obama and Britain would be working endlessly to resolve it and would resort to military use if necessary

the difference is so insane that to question it for one second is even more insane
