An Unnecessary Woman by Rabih Alameddine

Picked it off a list of good books, can't remember where. When I picked it up today I said to myself, "what a crazy title. Why did you request this?" Went out to the car and opened the book and sat there for 20 minutes! Excellent book. Set in Beirut. Current history. Great information re culture. End of the day and I am half way thru the book. Recommend! If you like things outside our culture, try it.

I have always enjoyed books set in other cultures or times if they are good books...The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseinni, Virgins of Paradise by Barbara Wood, Shogun by James Clavell.

So much to learn about places new to me.
