A macabre little poem and picture

Three jolly anatomists set up shop
near the bustling site of Newgate's Drop.
Their bone saws and scalpels all neatly arrayed
for the guest of honor at the hangman's parade.

She wore a dress of midnight black.
Her hands were tied behind her back.
She had done her husband in
by slipping poison in his gin.

She swung down low like a big black bell.
Her soul most likely went to hell
and when the spectacle was done
the anatomists began their fun.
