A puppy named Princess out for a walk in Davie was shot in the face and killed Saturday night by a man on a balcony armed with a pellet rifle, police say.
At first, the owner and her boyfriend didn’t know what happened.
“We heard the pop, but it didn’t register that someone had shot the dog,” said Roshelle Pearson, who bought the Chihuahua pup for her 8-year-old daughter in April.
Princess began crying and pulling on her leash.

Within five minutes, the 6-pound puppy was dead.
