I post this for a friend unable to post this question
Watch the line judge/ref I'm not sure which one it is..
But THIS hit happened in front of the guy with the black and white shirt. If you watch HE even Moves back frighten he would get hit by a body YET he didn't alert the other refs to the event. HE EVEN Skates away from a player injure.
Everyone is talking about what happen at that event YET how can someone like a Line Judge/Ref Not be held accountable for reacting to the hit when it basically happens in front of him.

(29,322 posts)but we don't know what sort of performance reviews officials go through, those type of things aren't well publicized. In the NFL, after every game coaches have the option to send in plays to be looked it. I didn't know this myself until a well publicized missed call was a story. So he may or may not be receiving some accountability and refs are humans so you can't expect perfection, they're gonna miss some calls even some obvious ones.

(81,861 posts)The official there is looking at the action behind the play, but there are two other officials are looking that way. I don't know what hockey officials are supposed to be looking at, but if you don't see the entire play, you're not supposed to call it. Lets say he called a foul on that play. What would he have called?
And how do you know the ref won't "be held accountable." Is he still working the playoffs? Will he work the next round? I think that official did fine, but the crew missed it. Someone should have been looking that way since the puck was going by. Ultimately, the refs are human beings and they do the best they can. Even in the NHL things will be missed some times.
