But MacLean is one of the best in the business. Calling him an idiot for making one unfortunate comparison is unfair to his body of work. He's a class act.

He was mentioning more of the character of the cities then the second time around it became twisted logic and made it worse by trying to make sense of it.

I agree with Mr Slayer. Smart people do dumb things from time-to-time, one or several things doesn't make someone a moron.
