New Jersey's (douchebag) Governor Christie irked by Jets, Giants

Governor Christie on Tuesday expressed his displeasure with the recent filing of a lawsuit by the Giants and Jets to try to stop a planned expansion of the American Dream Meadowlands project.

“It’s not the way the business should be done, and I’m disappointed in the teams for having done it — and I’ll leave it at that,” Christie told The Record’s Editorial board.

Asked when he thought work could be resumed on the long-dormant project, Christie replied, “I think by this fall.”

Christie reiterated his faith that Jon F. Hanson — the former New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority chairman and Christie’s advisor on sports and entertainment — would find a way to help revive the former “Xanadu” project. A financing deal for almost $2 billion to complete construction and a series of environmental permits haven’t yet been finalized.
