Rangers-Twins run for their lives after lightning strike

The Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins and major-league umpires weren’t going to wait around to see if lightning would strike twice.

Rangers and Twins players, as well as coaches and umpires on the field Sunday night, were sent scurrying to the dugouts after the clap of thunder from an extremely close lightning bolt.

The players didn't wait for the umpires to officially stop the game. The flash and almost simultaneous boom was enough to make them run for cover.

"That's the loudest noise I've ever heard," Twins outfielder Denard Span tweeted, according to FoxSportsSouthwest.com. "I thought Jesus was comin!"
