that the first day of Olympic coverage they showed this team playing in the first day of Group play but hasn't shown them since until today.
However, it was a blast to watch Candace Parker, Taurasi, & Maya Moore all on the same team. It was like a dream, all that's missing is Griner.

(29,322 posts)I don't see why she isn't on the team but saw that she was a finalist to make the team. She was the only collegian that was a finalist.
Twenty of the 21 athletes compete professionally in the WNBA and most continue to hone their games during the winter in China or Europe. The lone collegian is Griner, who has the chance to be the first collegiate athlete selected to a U.S. Olympic womens basketball team since 1988 (Vicky Bullett, Maryland; Bridgette Gordon, Tennessee).
