Origins of the UT & OU school colors:

After the University of Texas was built the school Pres. got on his knees and prayed for the answer to what the school colors should be...burnt orange was the answer....when he asked the lord why...he received, ''because it's burnt orange like the great western sky.''

After the University of Oklahoma was built the school Pres. got on his knees and prayed for the answer to what the school colors should be....red & white was the answer...when he asked the lord why....he received, ''because every time I look down there all I see is rednecks and white trash.''
