Rick Reilly: What's better than attending an NFL game? Staying home!

espn.com / 11-17-12

1) At home, you don't have to stand in line to pee.

2) At home, you don't have to stand in line to pee while watching a drunk pee in a sink.

3) The average cost of a beer at an NFL game is $7.13. In your fridge, it's about a buck. And it's colder. And you can keep the cap if you want.

4) At home, you will not get one of those precious beers accidentally poured down your neck. At a Monday night game in Phoenix three weeks ago, I was standing on the field when a guy yelled at me, "Hey, Feherty," as he spilled his Budweiser down the neck of the guy in front of him, "You suck!"

Granted, there's a lot more excitement when you get to be enjoying your team's big plays and hopefully a win with 60,000+ like-minded fans. But all those things he mentions are absolutely true, and I've experienced more than a few.

And this is not limited to the NFL. MLB is experiencing the same thing.

you might as well stay home. I'm not going to another one of their games until they put a decent product on that field again. 10 seasons (going on 11) without a playoff appearance...that's insane.

P.S. Another thing that Reilly should've mentioned in this are the long lines when getting in and out of the stadium. Every time I went to the Coliseum, it was always Hell getting in and out of there, plus there were a bunch of fans smoking and it was tough on my asthma.
