Stanford on their way to the Rose Bowl..

Kevin Hogan has taken Stanford to a place Andrew Luck never could.

Hogan threw for 155 yards and a touchdown and ran for 47 yards to help the eighth-ranked Cardinal beat No. 17 UCLA 27-24 in the Pac-12 championship game Friday night.

As a defender barreled into him, Hogan hurled a 26-yard tying touchdown to Drew Terrell on third-and-15 early in the fourth quarter. Jordan Williamson kicked his second field goal from 36 yards with 6:49 remaining for the go-ahead score to seal Stanford's first conference title since the 1999 season.

The Cardinal (11-2) will play the winner of the Big Ten title game between Nebraska and Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1

Sort of a weird game. Stanford didn't play their best while UCLA came out fired up...and the Cardinal didn't look ready for some of their looks.

All of this no doubt had something to do with the fact the two teams had just played last Saturday...a game in which Mora was basically accused of giving up in the 2nd half. He did go vanilla, but what would any coach have done knowing he has to play the same team in 6 days?

The Cardinal fought through all this, and now are 11-2. The losses being by 4 points at UW and the controversial defeat at South Bend. Stanford is a top 5 team.

but watching that missed field goal was painful.

And then the pic of the kicker, with a teammate giving him a "pat" on the head...or was it a WHACK to the head?
