Cleveland Browns to get new uniforms

The Browns have notified the NFL they wish to explore changes in their uniforms, but the process won’t be completed until next year.

“Hopefully we’ll unveil uniforms at maybe this time next year for the 2014 season,” owner Jimmy Haslam said to ESPN Cleveland.

Haslam said the drawn-out process requires a formal notification of a uniform change to the NFL, which has occurred. League marketing people then collaborate with suppliers – currently NIKE – to present the team a variety of mockups. The team then may enlist the help of focus groups to whittle down the options.

Haslam and CEO Joe Banner are still acquiring a sense of the sensitivity to the Browns’ traditional colors and bland (?) uniform style.

I'm traditionalist as they come, but have to admit the old white-on-white unis are the epitome of boring. Maybe a little minor sprucing up wouldn't hurt. Here's the only suggestion I've seen so far that I like:

I've always loved Brownie the Elf since the days Bob Dugan caricatured him on the cover of the PD Sunday Magazine every week during football season. Here's update I kinda' like:

If you didn't, you should check it out. Bernie was featured in it, and his story will break your heart. He was being a good son, and his Dad made a lot of bad decisions for him.

From Uncyclopedia:

The Cleveland Brown turds are a football team based out of Cleveland, Ohio that get their asses kicked by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Cincinnati Bengals twice a year, per team. Despite a promising beginning as a sports franchise during the golden years of the NFL, the Cleveland Browns struggled when they got re-established in 1999 after the team now known as the Defectors bolted Cleveland. Since then they have restored their glory and are now the most renown team in the entire NFL, even locking up the fourth seed or even the third seed every year in the AFC North division.

2007: The Browns have a winning record and subsequently drop "Cleveland" from their name to avoid being an oxymoron. Brady Quinn era begins, Browns continue losing to JV high school teams during the offseason.
