Chivalry is dead:Man jumps out of way, leaving girlfriend to be hit in face by baseball

From GD:

A couple attending a baseball match learned a little about each other - perhaps a little bit too much about each other - after a home run ended up hitting a woman in the face.

That would be unfortunate enough. What made it worse was that the ball was about to hit her boyfriend until he dived out of the way to leave her in the firing line.

The pair were at the match between the St Louis Cardinals and the Arizona Diamondbacks - and the Cardinals' Peter Kozma was busy doing his job and hitting the ball out of the park.

1): No way of telling from that vantage point if the ball would have fallen into the lower deck, so ...

2): Guy was not ready nor in position to make a play. His reaction was split-second and instinctive, not planned. He obviously cares about her as seen in the clips that follow.

BTW, she had her head turned away from the field while talking to someone. Sorry she was beaned, but rule number when attending baseball games: pay attention to where the ball is.

Bullshit, sensationalist reporting.

If you find the :28 spot on the timeline of the video in the link and keep clicking it while it plays it's perfectly evident that she also saw the ball but reacted late.

This is a non-story all the way around and I believe printed on the back of tickets at most ballparks is a warning about paying attention anyway.
