WHAT A GAME! Rask is one helluva goalie and (obviously) so is Crawford.
EMPTY NETTER! 3-1 Hawks! Up 3 games to 2.
Congratulations to both teams on what so far has been a GREAT series. GO BLACKHAWKS!

Boston Brings the Hits, but Chicagos Speed Wins the Game
Its been a war its been a battle, Quenneville said of both the game and the series.
CHICAGO (AP) Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron has been taken to a Chicago hospital for observation after being injured during Game 5 against the Blackhawks on Saturday night.

(7,044 posts)""Patrice was discharged from the hospital Saturday night and will be flying home with the team this morning," Chiarelli said in a team statement...The Bruins are being quiet when it comes to the injury and like every NHL team being very vague when it comes to talking about it.
"Even taking into account the uncertain status of Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews for tonights Game 6 showdown at the Garden, Bergerons absence would be crippling to the depth-challenged Bruins. The cold, hard reality, though, is that this is hockey, and in hockey, especially at Cup time, you muddle on with what youve got."

(12,296 posts).... it looked odd, back spasm, groin pull, definitely something in his core, though.
Hope it's just something that needs time - not surgery - to heal.

(7,044 posts)Who win the Cup with a 6th game victory in Boston 3-2. A great series all around. But bullet shots to the Bruins hearts in the end. I'm going back into hibernation till football season (or whatever).

(12,296 posts)I did not expect that ending!! Thrilled but also sad because now the season's over & that was some AWESOME hockey.
Final tally:
Shaw - hit by a puck, played with bleeding facial stitches
Handzus - played game 6 with a broken wrist
Hossa - played game 6 w/ pinched disk in back, couldn't feel his foot
Bergeron - played game 6 with torn cartilege, a broken rib and a separated shoulder.
Hockey players have the most heart of any athletes!!!!
Thanks Boston, for a well-fought series.

(32,088 posts)I was expecting OT, if not a Game 7. But, in retrospect, it's a fitting ending for the Hawks, and this season, in general. Wow!!! The only thing I hate about it is that turd Bettman still manages to come out of that lockout fiasco smelling like a rose.
I had heard about Zus's broken wrist. There needs to be some sort of 'gutsy player' award, and that would definitely go to Bergeron.
