Mike Brown, you bullshitter

The Cincinnati Bengals owner was commenting on his decision to allow HBO to film a "Hard Knocks" series during training session so people can see how the team has brought in "good people."

Yeah, sure. But here's where Mike starts slinging the real shit.

He said there's no proof that concussions contribute to dementia, though he's glad the NFL is emphasizing player safety ... "I'm not convinced that anybody really knows what concussions bring later in life, if anything," he said.

Is that standard issue reply from the NFL these days?

Moron.

For instance, Ron Jaworski had well over 100 concussions as a player and is absolutely fine. No mental problems, no loss of memory, nothing. Other players have had far fewer concussions and have full blown dementia.

Obviously taking no concussions would be ideal for anyone but there's not much that can be done about it unless you just want to end the game of football completely.

which is about the NFL's alleged concealment of the risks associated with concussions. According to NFL Concussion Litigation:

As of June 1, 2013, there are more than 4,800 named player-plaintiffs in the 242 concussion-related lawsuits. Including the players’ spouses, there are more than 5,800 plaintiffs, total.

I hope Jaworski can continue to dodge that injury bullet. Terry Bradshaw had to curtail his activities on FOX NFL Sunday -- said repeated concussions have caught up with his ability to think and talk fast.
