Jerrah has big-screen envy.

His, uh, screen is now not even the biggest in Texas,

They do arms races a bit differently in Texas. These days, the weapons aren't pistols, they're high-definition video screens.

Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans, now boasts two video screens that beat the record previously held by Dallas. At 14,549 square feet apiece, the screens are almost large enough for stadiumgoers anywhere in Reliant to feel like ... well, like they're sitting at home watching the game on their own HD television, only with tens of thousands of folks all around them.

The screens cost $16 million of taxpayer money, funds which Houston officials say will be recouped when the Super Bowl comes to town. (Note: the Super Bowl has not yet agreed to come to town.)

Expect Jerry Jones to counter by beaming Cowboy games onto the surface of the moon.

I can't wait to see the next Tony Romo fumble on the surface of the moon!

That big screen tv was installed in 2010. That is some real old technology by now. (Moore's Law) madinmaryland Aug 2013 #2

They announced it in the spring. I'm not that the big screens were the deciding factor in it, though.

I just read the link, and it's in there too.

I'm sure the residents of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area will be coughing up the money in the near future to do something even bigger.
