Related: About this forumGotta say I'm pretty stunned by those Frisco Niners
I seriously had them in the NFC championship game this season.
They're a mess.
The Colts demolished them in their own house.
What say thee San Fran fans---what the hell is wrong with your team?

(31,203 posts)Defenses are stuffing the box and taking away the inside the run. They're disrupting the rhythm of passing plays and hurrying Kaepernick. TE Vernon Davis is injured, who besides being a receiving threat is a vital pass blocker.
Against Indy there was just one good receiver available, Anquan Boldin. Kyle Williams is a special teams player, not a starter. They're thin in play-makers.
I keep repeating this, but Kaepernick hasn't started a full season of games yet. Yes, he had some good performances on a national stage last year but pundits anointed him the second coming too soon.
The best defense is a ball-control offense. D played well IMO but they're going to wear out with a disadvantage in TOP of 13 minutes. Then Patrick Willis got injured. Now pass rusher Aldon Smith is checking into rehab. Starting nose tackle Ian Williams was lost for the season against Seattle.
I don't get the play-calling. Seems they abandon what works for them, like the runs/sweeps outside that were so effective in the first half. Coaching over-thought their game plan in the Super Bowl. I think they're still doing so.
IMO the 2013 team is suffering from an inflated ego. They lost too many good players off-season and the injuries are becoming insurmountable. You can't win with hype.
Now there's this: Kevin Lynch of the San Francisco Chronicle reported Gore was angry and "had choice words for Harbaugh near the end of the game, as (he) was heading out to the field."
Great ... festering dissension. Harbaugh has trouble.

(41,692 posts)There are several QBs who were rookies last season who are playing well. Sure they have a couple of more games than him...but
but it should be expected the more he plays the better he will be able to improvise. That'll help.
The coaching problem:
Recapture last year's intensity and keep players enrolled.
Re-examine game planning and play-calling, especially the second-half adjustment.
Back-ups must play better.

(41,692 posts)I'm not giving up. Judging on how the season has started, NFC wild card spots might be available at 9-6. A team gets hot in December and anything can happen.
Congrats on the Dolphins, BTW.

(41,692 posts)It could be just a dream...although Tannenhill is playing well.

(29,322 posts)At first, I didn't like it. But when seeing them during a game live, I think they have one of the best uniforms in the league.
The new logo and colors goes with the jersey/pants really well.
