Peyton Manning Throws 509th Touchdown Pass Breaks Brett Favre's Record

KUSA-It only took Peyton Manning two possessions to throw the two touchdowns he needed to tie Brett Favre for the most all-time Sunday night against the 49ers. Then it was Demaryius Thomas with 3:09 to play in the second quarter, catching the touchdown that gave Manning the stand alone all-time record at 509.

The record-setting grab was the 29th touchdown connection between Manning and D. Thomas.

Manning has now thrown a touchdown pass in 45 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL, and the fourth longest all-time. Drew Brees holds the record after throwing a touchdown pass in 54 consecutive games.

The toss to D. Thomas also gave Manning his 89th game with at least three touchdown passes, which is the most all-time in league history.

There is a whole lot a volume stat doesn't capture besides the "dedication to the craft" comment which is why they aren't good stats in who was better than who comparisons and I say that believing he is the greatest of all time, he wouldn't need the record to convince me of it.
