A little reminder of NFL ref mischief.....

Wasn't to long ago (August to be exact) that the league's head of officiating, Dean Blandino got caught partying it up with JJ's little boy in a party bus.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24652025/is-this-the-nfl-ref-czar-on-cowboys-party-bus-irate-nfl-execs-say-yes

Add this to one of the most bizarre call-non-call during yesterday's game---including the no call on Dez Bryant running onto the field without a helmet to object to the call-no-call......well let's just say it stinks to high heaven.

Would it have changed the games outcome? Who know's.... but--put yards on for the pass interference and 15 more for Bryant's clear penalty---what----20 yards and into Dallas territory....again, who knows.

Oh I'm sure the Cowboy fans will pop into this thread and defend it---LOL---but imagine if it went the other way----you think they'd keep quite?

No one named, "Dean Blandino", should be in charge of referees Yavin4 Jan 2015 #2
Would the call have been different had the NFL not split up their officiating crews? Auggie Jan 2015 #3

One of my close friends is a 'Boys fan. He and I have had honest discussions throughout the year. We both want our teams to win, but we want them to win fair. We both agree that it's better to win, even if it's tainted.

And we both agree this 'Boys victory is HEAVILY TAINTED.

It's going to take a while for me to swallow this bitter pill. I have nothing against the Cowboys or the City of Dallas but these refs are just plain criminal IMO.

I also find it interesting how this situation brings out the Detroit haters. (Not necessarily referring to you, trumad.)

I have a hard time accepting bias or game-fixing at the playoff level. Not to say it couldn't happen.

But I think the same group of officials who worked together the entire year, or years, would work more seamlessly together, and have better communication and trust, and -- MOST IMPORTANTLY -- call the game with more consistency.

It's a bad idea to create new crews for the playoffs IMO. Identify the four best and just use those.
