Interesting dynamic in this playoff.

Heretofore, in college ball, you always knew who your opponents would be, sometimes years in advance -- and several weeks for the bowl game.

Now here comes this playoff. You get a whole week and a half to prepare for an opponent you didn't have scheduled. Could it be that Oregon and its Chip Kelly impersonator was thinking 'Bama all the way?

Could it be that Oregon was not allowed to hold practices as long as those permitted for Ohio State? Just a few of the questions in my view.

Consider that Ohio turned the ball over four times.

No, they beat Oregon in the trenches. And soundly. With a third string QB.

They can only win when everything is going their way. Run into a little adversity and they wither away. Stanford was able to beat them just by hanging in the game and getting a few stops.

They killed us this year. As did the Little Sisters of the Poor, for that matter. Their only loss until last night came to Arizona.
