Peyton Manning vows to return “more disappointing than ever” in 2015

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning informed team vice president John Elway this week that he intends to return for an 18th NFL season in 2015 and, according to friends and associates of the quarterback, Manning believes it could be his most disappointing season yet.

“Peyton felt pretty beat up after the end of last year,” said brother Cooper Manning. “He’s almost 39 years old. But after getting some rest and thinking about things, he believes he still has people to let down.”

Manning’s third season in Denver ended in a pathetic, one-and-done 24-13 home loss in the divisional round to the Colts, his longtime employer. But Manning initially signed with the Broncos through 2016 and he has told those close to him that he believes he can disappoint until then and beyond.

“He still has goals and things he wants to do in this game,” said wide receiver Wes Welker. “Not like most quarterbacks who just want to win a Super Bowl. He knows that’s not realistic because Rex Grossman is no longer a starter in the league. But be the first quarterback to go 16-0 and then lose his first game in the playoffs? No one has done that. Peyton thinks he still has it in him. He wants to take one or two more good runs at it.”

A wide receiver on an 8-8 team that missed the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

The other question is with the much improved offensive line, was that what made DeMarco Murray so good this year?

I usually don't care much for Charles Barkley, but he is correct when he says that Bryant should accept the $13 million being offered instead of being greedy asking for $5 million more and losing a teammate that plays a role in making your job easier.

Murray should also realize that it takes his team mates to make his job easier. Hopefully, both of them will keep things in the proper perspective along with Romo.
