"The Kids are all right"...

That should be the Cubs theme song. Four rookies and the much ballyhooed Kris Bryant is arguably the worst of the bunch. Addison Russell (a steal) is heating up and has supplanted Starlin Castro as starting SS. Schwarber has been up for about 30 games or so and is tearing the cover off the ball, Jorge Soler is cooking right now and is developing into a quality middle of the order hitter and of course Kris Bryant, much ballyhooed, is batting below .250 but still has 15 HRs. I don't know if these youngsters can carry the Cubs to the promised land this year, but I love what I'm seeing and feel confident that within two (2) years, the Cubs will be world champions. Thanks to Boston for Theo Epstein, the architect of this awakening. We sat through 4 years of truly awful baseball and now the payoff is coming.

If Arrieta isn't in the discussion for the Cy Young award, then people simply aren't paying attention.

With what Granke, Kershaw and a couple others are dong, that's a tall order.

Right now, i'd say they're a year ahead of schedule. If Bryant can get up in the 290's, that's going to be a tough middle of the line up. I also think that's going to be a really good defensive infield.

Need one more pitcher though, and a lock down closer.

That's pretty good. So maybe it's a myth that the Cubs need a "lock down closer". And I think Haren will be ok for a fifth starter.
See, I actually watch Cubs games a lot so I pay attention to what's going on. In my opinion, they could use a center fielder because Fowler has a one year deal. Starlin Castro?

injured, hurting, and at the end of a challenging and hot road trip. But I agree, a tip of the hat is in order to Epstein. And to Cubs fans for keeping the faith. They're among the greatest fans in baseball.
