Good for her. Was rooting for Serena but, as a huge women's tennis fan, I have to tip my hat to both Vinci and Pennetta.

One of them will win their first Slam, and it's guaranteed that an Italian woman will win a Grand Slam singles title for the first time. It's not the history I wanted but history nonetheless.
