Greinke will get $206 million from the Diamondbacks on his six-year deal with deferrals. That’s an average annual value of $34.3 million, which is $3.3 million per year more than David Price got on his seven-year, $217 million deal with the Red Sox.

so the ultimate prize is not. Remember, the Giants came out of the second wild-card slot in 2014.
