I really think that the Patriots will find a way to lose and Denver goes on to be destroyed in the Super Bowl

(56,177 posts)and he'll start in the Super Bowl, so put your money on the NFC team.

(16,113 posts)played well. If that happens, I can't see why they'd let Manning play in the SB barring an Osweiler injury.

(49,533 posts)you sure seem to do a lot of hating of your own. Perhaps Peyton and Repuke Elway could sit down with these two close buddies?

NEW YORK Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump caved to pressure to apologize for the first time today since his controversial campaign began by saying he can no longer support New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
First of all, I would never really say that we were friends in the first place, okay? Trump told supporters at a rally. Maybe he thought we were friends, but people are just naturally drawn to me. I met him a few times and thats it.
Trumps statements seem to signal a desire to make a move towards the center with an eye toward broadening his appeal ahead of the general election.

(5,252 posts)My original "not NE" got knocked out in the wild card round. So that leaves me with only one Super Bowl loser: Denver

(11,833 posts)Though the Broncos have a lauded defense, it doesn't seem like many teams have been able to get to Brady this year. He releases the ball so quickly. With Edelman healthier and Gronkowski looking like a hall of famer, I think he'll find his receivers on those brilliant short pass plays the Patriots do so well. On the other side, despite what everyone is saying about Manning's comeback, I haven't seen their passing & receiving game looking all the great the last few games. That would leave it to their running game. I think the Patriots will key in on it pretty well. Despite the Broncos having home field advantage, I'm going with the Patriots coaching staff and quarterback.
Arizona - Carolina is a more intriguing matchup to me. They've been two of my favorite teams this year. Carson Palmer played perhaps his worst game of the season last week (a bit of the jitters since it was his first playoff game, imo) and the Cards still found a way to win. If they play their best game of the season I think they can beat anybody. But I think the Panthers may have had their toughest opponent last week, and beat the Seahawks so hard in the first half that the time ran out on them. Just an absolute steamroller. I'm going with the Panthers at home to demonstrate their incredible athleticism at both ends of the ball.

(29,322 posts)they lead the league in defensive yppa so while they might not get to the qb its their coverage game as their strong suit

(11,833 posts)Stopped the pass, stopped the run and got to Brady maybe more than I've ever seen in his career. Complete defensive domination. Congratulations to the Broncos.

I hope Denver and New England both lose.

(11,833 posts)of seeing Denver & New England. I want to see teams like the Jets & Raiders competing for that spot.
I like the Cards & Panthers too. Both exciting teams with a capacity for explosive plays.

(10,893 posts)want the Broncos to lose (for obvious reasons). I don't really care about the other 3 teams, although it would be nice to see the Cards or Panthers get their 1st SB.

(11,833 posts)Exciting game though. I had a buddy over who was rooting for the Patriots and was going a little nuts at the end - yelling at the tv, yelling for penalties that weren't there, yelling over non-calls that he thought (incorrectly) should have been calls. Yeesh. I'm glad he split after the game.

(11,833 posts)fashion over the Patriots. Broncos establish a pretty good running game & Manning manages the clock. He even passed a lot better than last week. The football wasn't getting away from him. Brady & Gronkowski almost pull off some last quarter heroics but fittingly, Broncos intercept a two-point conversion play to seal the deal.
Congrats Denver. AFC Conference Champs.

(11,833 posts)Can't remember the final score, maybe 49-15 or 150-12.
Panthers dominated the Cards in every area - passing, running, defensive line. Cam Newton played like Superman again, throwing for over 300 yards, leaping tall buildings for touchdowns. I think he even helped with concessions sales at halftime. Carolina's defensive secondary was again phenomenal. They intercepted Carson Palmer 6 or maybe 23 times.
Panthers are favorites in the Super Bowl against the Broncos. Opening line is Panthers by 3.5. Sounds about right, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're heavier favorites by game time.
