Other ACC fans know that when UNC loses a big game it's worth looking at some UNC forums to enjoy the bile.
However, the gut-wrenching nature of Monday night's loss to Villanova in the 2016 NCAA championship game has taken things to a completely different level: a disgruntled UNC fan has posted a petition to urge the NCAA to overturn the results.
You read that right.
UNC fan Michael Kline posted it at www.change.org, saying this: "This game was poorly officiated from the tip off to the end. It was a one sided called game all the way through. The officials called fouls against UNC that should have not been called and never called Villanova for the fouls they committed. The officials never called Villanova for multiple travel violations either. Also I want a complete investigation into the officials as it was them that decided the game not who played better."

(700 posts)Whenever UNC loses a sporting event its due to lousy officiating. Whenever they win the officiating was really good.
All I can say is thank you Villanova!!!

(6,117 posts)The only people I heard bitching were ones who had large bets of some type, not necessarily those who went to Carolina.
Many impartial observers commented that the officiating was lacking, but UNC still had plenty of opportunities. Villanova played a good game, its defense caused lots of problems for Carolina. We went over five minutes without scoring in the second half. Hard to win that way.
I was on Franklin Street Monday night. While the crowd was disappointed, most everyone was in relatively good spirits. We are in enough Final Fours to know how this works from year to year.
Now time to turn our attention to all the other sports where we have teams ranked in the top five and top ten. There are a lot of them. Go Heels!
