The A's had to fly home in an SF Giants-branded plane

http://www.sfgate.com/athletics/article/As-had-to-fly-home-in-an-SF-Giants-branded-plane-7241166.php

Well yeah, that's not going to help with the Oakland vs. SF inferiority complex.

Fresh off a sweep of the Seattle Mariners, the A's were pumped to get home to Oakland. And then they saw the plane they were flying home in:

The Giants have a partnership with Virgin America, which includes some specially branded planes. A few recent World Series titles and a shiny, pretty stadium do tend to lead to fancy sponsorships.

At least the A's can console themselves with this fact: Right now, they're atop the AL West.

These guys deserve better. Hope this motivates them this year. Unfortunately, they're 4-5 so it ain't good right now.

they are cheap bastards who continually have screwed fans.

I empathize with the players and coaches.

Whoopsie! Baseball and hoops seasons overlap!

http://www.sfgate.com/athletics/article/A-s-flew-on-Giants-plane-here-s-why-7242260.php

Yes, the A’s flew from Seattle to Oakland on a plane the Giants are chartering this season....

Reddick tweeted a picture of the plane, with a Giants logo, and heard back from not-too-thrilled A’s fans. It’s believed a few folks in the front office weren’t pleased, either.

“Everyone’s anti-Giants when you’re rooting for the green and gold,” Reddick said. “But that’s what fans need to understand. We’re not going to be mad about that. Fans make the rivalry a lot more than the players do. You don’t see us going out there and clearing benches with these guys every time we’re playing. Yeah, the games mean more because of the rivalry that has been created here. But we’re not going to make a big deal over something like that.”

Fact is, the Giants fly on a nice plane. Mostly first-class seats from front to rear. Just not as nice, Reddick and other A’s said, as the plane the A’s generally use — the Dallas Mavericks’ plane, which wasn’t available Sunday. Thus, Eastern Airlines had the A’s use the one chartered by the Giants, who wouldn’t need it until flying to Denver Monday.

be tough to be an A's fan these days and put up with the foolishness from Wolff and Fisher. These are 2 of the sorriest owners around. They've constantly threatened to leave Oakland, they won't spend to maintain a consistently competitive squad, and they won't even get their own plane. They've turned a once-proud franchise into an afterthought.
