Related: About this forumBlack cat takes a quick shift on ice during Sharks-Predators playoff game
Theres no such thing as bad luck when the San Jose Sharks are playing as well as they are right meow.
A black cat scurried onto the SAP Center ice Friday night in San Jose and walked in front of the home Sharks bench prior to Game 1 of the Western Conference second round against the Nashville Predators.
The cat hopped on for its lone shift of the night through a door near the red line and skittered down ice before exiting through the Zamboni entrance along the goal line.
The Predators led, 1-0, entering the third period, prompting superstition to run wild that the little kitter had jinxed the home team. But the Sharks stormed back with five third-period goals, including two on the power play and two empty-netters, to send the Predators to the litter box in a 5-2 Sharks win.

Joe PAW-velski!!
The Sharks are going to great lengths to find the perfect home for a cat that became a social media darling earlier this week. At least, a better home than SAP Center.
The Sharks announced Sunday they are making arrangements to transfer the cat, named "Joe PAW-velski" to a local animal shelter, where it will undergo a full health examination and a microchip scan, to ensure it does not already have an owner....
"Friday night, just before warm-ups a small, black cat emerged from the player bench area and subsequently made his way onto the ice, running along the boards towards the giant Shark Head. Finding an open door, he was able to escape beneath the seating stands....
In the event the cat is healthy and is not micro-chipped, the Sharks anticipate that the cat will be made available for adoption. If that is the case, the Sharks will provide more information via the team's social media channels and sjsharks.com when it becomes available." Sharks Chief Operating Officer John Tortora issued the following statement:

That was my first thought, the cat obviously needs a home...and I bet they have more than one living there.

If he's feral, then I hope they fix and then find him a colony to live in.

It looks young enough that he could still possibly be tamed, but if he isn't then I hope they can find him a good place to live. It looks like he has already had a rough life.

At least now he'll get some food..some of my rescue kittens have hissed at me at first, but they come around, so the little guy just might be very scared in the photo.
