Rob Ninkovich suspended 4 games for banned substance

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots starting defensive end Rob Ninkovich will serve a four-game suspension to open the 2016 regular season after a positive test for a banned substance, and said he is devastated and shocked because he would never knowingly take an illegal substance.

"Few things are more important to me than my name and reputation. This might call that into question for some, which has me heartbroken," Ninkovich told ESPN. "I don't want to cut any corners. I want to do things the right way, with high integrity, and that's what I have always wanted to stand for."

Ninkovich, 32, has played in 116 consecutive games (including playoffs) for the Patriots since signing with the team as a free agent Aug. 2, 2009.

They always blame it on something like a tainted supplement (or worse like the guy with 3 kids who claimed it was some fertility drug he needed, or the guy who claimed his drink was spiked) or something that is seen as more benign like Adderall.

Out the scumbags, and make the suspension meaningful. 4 games is a joke.

I know a second failure is a season long suspension which is what happened to Daryl Washington with the Cardinals (no longer with the team.

What is interesting about The Dark Side documentary was when the British athlete was in Vancouver, this PED dealer was advising him to tell the border agents that its for fertility and back up with a prescription for it.
