History doesn't have to repeat itself in another game 6 with the Cubs up 3 to 2.

Apologies to Cubs followers here, but your team is too good!

(31,171 posts)I grew up in Cleveland, and like any Cubs fan, want my hometown team to win. If it were San Francisco vs. Cleveland I'd be neutral, just as I was in the NBA finals.
When I was growing up just to have a winning season was something to dream of.

(36,436 posts)I don't believe in curses. But I believe in the belief in curses, and that factor makes weird things happen.
When it happened, Moises Alou went absolutely, furiously crazy on the field, screaming at Bartman. When it happened, all of Wrigley clenched. When it happened, a feeling of dread became palpable in the stadium.
That's what a curse is. Not a billy goat or a black cat. But a collective belief that what can go wrong will go wrong. And, oh, did it.
Pitcher Mark Prior lost his composure. Shortstop Alex Gonzalez booted a double-play ball. The Marlins scored eight runs, won that game and Game 7 the next night.

(65,044 posts)Watch game 2. Rizzo is near the tarp trying to catch the ball, and everyone in the front row is trying to get out of the way. They're even holding off the guy in the next row who starts to lean forward.
