Raiders executives have told the Las Vegas Stadium Authority board that investment bank Goldman Sachs has guaranteed the necessary financing for a move to Las Vegas. Thats with or without casino mogul and prospective partner Sheldon Adelson, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Adelson has had some differences with the Raiders, a league source said, after Adelson played a key role in getting Nevada lawmakers to pass legislation that would contribute $750 million in public money to a proposed $1.9 billion stadium project. Adelson pledged $650 million to the 65,000-seat venue, with the Raiders and NFL responsible for the remaining $500 million.

Did Davis use Adelson to lobby the Nevada legislature only to back out of any deal with Adelson? Sure seems like it to me. I'm guessing Adelson got too greedy so Davis found another partner in Goldman Sachs. Alderson did Davis' dirty work for him. Not that I'm taking sides. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a lawsuit come out of this.

(36,469 posts)a deal that was destined to go down in flames, so he found an alternative money source. Adelson, the worm he is, will figure a way to wiggle back into the game. Hell, it may even involve calling in a few markers.
Interesting, this is the second football deal that seems to be contingent on a magic $650 million pot of money.
Because Adelson was telling the Raiders to get their hands off his cash so the Raiders are like OK we'll go in without you.
Fuck Adelson. He donated $500,000 to fight cannabis legalization in Arizona.
