Darren Baker, best remembered in the Bay Area as the tiny tot of a batboy whisked up at home plate by Giants first baseman J.T. Snow during the 2002 World Series, will be back on a Bay Area baseball field.
Baker, now 17, announced on Instagram that he has signed a letter of intent to play at Cal, saying Dreams do come true along with a photo of himself and his father, former Giants manager Dusty Baker, sitting at a table with the letter in front of them along with a Cal hat.
Cal confirmed the signing with a tweet that read "Another future Golden Bear is @DarrenBaker_12!"
Baker lives in Granite Bay and attends Jesuit High School in Carmichael; the second baseman hit .386 last season. He verbally committed to Cal two years ago.
