This is just in. I guess Fitzgerald is next LOL how are they going to attract a coach to come here.

(11,257 posts)He's not retiring. That said, I have no idea whether he could be playing elsewhere.

(29,322 posts)He said he was going to wait on coach and QB situation before making a decision but said it was his desire to remain a Cardinal. With both gone already I imagine Fitzgerald is next but I could see him playing elsewhere.

(17,305 posts)get a top-notch QB and a great coach as replacements? Maybe Larry will wait to see who the successors are before seeking relocation.
Plus if he waits a little longer he gets $11 million in guaranteed income (I think). I'm hoping Cardinals grab a Louisville QB this off season like Teddy Bridgewater or in the draft.

(29,322 posts)They are very good coaches down to the assistants and love the players and how they fit into the schemes. I'd focus more on an offensive guy while keeping James Bettcher but I wouldn't mind any of the NE coordinators though I'd worry about them video taping other team's practices or bringing whatever tricks they use in NE down here. But having both McDaniels and Patricia is why NE is more consistent than they ever been.
Speaking of defensive guys I know this is very controversial and I doubt it would happen not to mention the unreal media polarizing coverage I'd kinda like Rex Ryan and having Peterson island. He coached down here under Buddy Ryan, Aaneas Williams thanked him for making the Hall of Fame saying he gave him the confidence to be a shut down corner, "before there was Revis island there was Aaneas Williams.
I'm speaking strictly when it comes to defensive coaches, I wouldn't mind Patricia but either way they would need an offensive coordinator since Arian's called the plays and they already have a good defensive staff and system in place.

Who are the best free-agent QBs available?
Jimmy Garoppolo?
Take a chance on Teddy Bridgewater if he's healthy?
Sam Bradford?
Old man Drew Brees?
Kirk Cousins?
Matt Stafford?
Derek Carr?

(29,322 posts)I like Bridgewater at 25 or drafting a QB. I think Stafford and Carr remain with their teams particularly since Stafford signed a contract this season. I would love Stafford but that isn't going to happen.

(17,305 posts)The guy was lights-out with San Fran, going 5-0, including a win over the vaunted Jags D. He recorded a 49ers record 1,542 pass yards over those first five games as a starter. And the 49ers don't exactly have a strong receiving corps (Marquise Goodwin is good but didn't break 1,000 receiving yards and next best after him in terms of yardage was TE George Kittle at 515 yards).
I wouldn't blame San Fran whatsoever if they decide to slap the "franchise" tag on Garappolo.
